The RALPH Logies

Friday, April 30, 2010
It's just like the real Logies except with better shows and less commercials.

Best comedy
Nominees Australia's Funniest Home Videos
Two and a Half Men
Seinfeld
The Office

Winner: Australia’s Funniest Home Videos
Who can go past genital injuries, pñiata accidents and family pets losing their crap.
Why it's so good: There's nothing funnier than the misfortune of others. When we asked comedian Mick Molly if the show was more about the videos or the voiceovers, he told us, “It’s the yin and yang of comedy. I don’t think one would work without the other.”
Classic bit: Whenever someone gets hit in the nads and a “boing” sound plays.

Best drama
Nominees
Underbelly
The Sopranos
The Wire
Deadwood

Winner: The Sopranos
New Jersey "waste-management consultant" Tony Soprano tries to balance his home life with being a Mafia boss – and not lose his sanity in the process.
Why it's so good: It set the pace for all modern telly dramas with its violence, bad language, violence, sex and drug use. Despite the heavy content and regular whackings, it’s funny as hell and has a cast of characters more colourful than a Crayola tower.
Classic bit: The “Pine Barrens” episode, where Paulie and Christopher take a feisty Russian to a snowfield to kill him but end up getting lost in the woods. Morbidly hilarious.

Best animated series
Nominees

South Park
The Simpsons
Family Guy
American Dad

Winner: The Simpsons
For 20 years, a yellow bloke has led his dysfunctional family through randomly insane adventures while lusting after donuts.
Why it’s so good: The material is still as fresh as Snoop Dogg's stash. And unlike the other contenders here, it’s suitable for tackers and their oldies. They've also had countless guest stars, from Tony Hawk to 50 Cent to that dude who sounded heaps like Michael Jackson. No wonder it's America's longest sitcom.
Classic bit: Impossible to pick. There’s so many killer yarns, South Park actually dedicated an entire episode to rad Simpsons storylines.

The sopranos is and was the best show on tv. No wonder it took out so many US and international awards. The only idiots who rubbish it, are either too stupid and slow to follow the plot or have never even watched an episode. Good work ralph, you got this award right.
I have to agree,no cartoon can beat the Simpsons.its the best animation ever, no matter how many times you watch the episodes, you always find something new to laugh at. good on you for voting for the Simpsons!!!!
The Sopranos is the best show ever made. Nothing will ever beat it. I love Underbelly but I hate how it is made out to be realistic when pretty much all of it is a load of crap.
underbelly will win the best drama, The Sopranos is a piece of ***
